  1. Book: Rangers Apprentice Book 12 The Royal Ranger
  1. Book 12 of the rangers apprentice series is set in a fictional world in the middle ages before the invention of guns but after the invention of crossbows.  The books center around the island kingdom of Araluen which has fifty fiefs.  In Araluen their are special forces known as rangers they are surrounded by myths and legends of secrecy and awe.  In book 12 the greatest ranger of all time Will Treaty is tasked to train the crown princesses daughter to be a ranger.  The authors have selected to give the readers of this book a story about how Maddie a bratty princess can change to care about others form peasants to kings.   Through being disowned, growing up, and appreciating the small things in life.  Teaching this Maddie her life lessons pulls Will Treaty the greatest ranger who ever lived out of a fierce depression.


  1. The authors really emphasized the learning experience of the disowned princess and how she started to see more than herself.  How she grew to be a good person and future ruler. As well as becoming an excellent ranger.
  2. In the  book they use standard english  not old english to go with the time and not slang.  They also use some made up words and kingdoms.  From the language used the fact that everyone in the story cares about Maddie is obvious.
  3. The book was written by  John Flanagan and the purpose is to make money and give his readers closure.



  1. Being an avid reader I respect books and the people who take the time to write them.  I believe that I am leaning towards the Buddhist respect for books in that I want to read the book.  Then pass the knowledge or good story for someone else to escape into.
  2. All nonfiction books and some fiction books do hold learning and knowledge.
  3. I would rank in order from best to worst: books, teachers, family, friends, media, and celebrities.



First stage:  where I am currently at in learning how to play a drum kit, just stating to learn my first song and how it works.

Second stage: learning about the subtitles and grey areas of life life

Third stage: In the sport of kayaking I have reached the point where I am great however I still have to spend numerous hours in a boat to become excellent

Fourth stage: I have paddle for seven years now and I am one of the best for my age on the island however I can still need more time in the boat to achieve the

Fifth  level: have not achieved this at all

Wisdom: not even remotely close to this step


Experiential knowledge- seeing the green flash right as the sun sets

Procedural knowledge- replacing a tire inner tube

Knowledge clam- basic stoichiometry

The easiest to learn is experiential because all you need to do is see it like a sunset.

  1. Cognitivism best applies to the IB program.  I find Cognitivism the best way for me to learn because it requires the person to examine the knowledge.


  1. The picture is an example of working memory the need for this person to visualize the classroom.



K.1. Being right means you have the correct answer to the question and the other person is simply wrong, to be polite is to show or explain that you have the correct answer without insulting or forcing you opinion on the other person.


2. Making a false statement is saying that the atmosphere does not exist, it is a statement that can be disproven by scientific fact.  Lying is saying something did not happen when it did occur.



English, math, history, and science are all based on reasoning, observation, and reliable sources.

Arts involve those as well but also include for inspiration memory, emotion, and revelation are used.

  1. The Haitian revolution

The source of information for this was Mr. Webb and numerous textbook readings.  The source is an expert in his field and the textbook passages were read and approved by Mr. Webb.

The Claim is that a slave revolution occurred in Haiti that was impacted by the french revolution and shocked the world.  The context of learning this in history class we are currently learning about the United States,  Haitian,  and latin american revolutions.


I have applied critical thinking to learning this and understanding what affected the Haitian revolution and what is affected.
